Tees Women Poets

Fostering the ethos that a woman's place is on stage, Tees Women Poets supports women of all backgrounds across the Tees Valley to write and perform non-conforming folk to grow their confidence through self-expression.

Forming in 2011 this Tees Women Poets started life as a performance poetry rehearsal club run by Kirsten Luckins on behalf of national spoken word charity Apples and Snakes.

Since then with Kirsten as producer, the TWP have undertaken a huge range of activities such as performance residencies at MIMA, multi-media experimental events at ARC Stockton, cabaret nights at local cafes, appearances at community arts festivals, feminist poetry evenings at indie bookshops, and the creation of podcasts to celebrate Votes for Women.
